Thessaloniki Airport (formerly Mikra Airport), is the third-largest airport in Greece after Athens International and Heraklion International.
It opened in 1930 and was the second-busiest airport in Greece in terms of flights and the third-busiest in terms of passengers served in 2016, with over 6 million passengers. A second terminal is currently under construction to cope with the increasing demand and increasing tourism, this project is part of a billion-euro investment by Fraport Greece, the company which operates the airport.
LUXSOLAR for this airport, as well for the other Greece regional airports managed by Fraport, has provided the an Aircraft Warning Light system L810-LXS-KIT and an Identification Beacon, a useful tool for in-flight pilots that allow to uniquely identify an airport.
